Level 1 sweep and inspection to the NFPA 211 annual standard - flue, crown, cap, and flashing checked and photographed
Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.

Mention the offer when you book. One offer per household per visit; offers can’t be combined with each other and don’t apply to work already quoted or completed. Local pricing and availability vary by location - your local Alcott Chimney Sweep team confirms the final price in writing before any work begins.
Every job is priced the same way: a free written estimate
We price the job, not the hour. Before anyone touches anything, you get the full price for the specific work in writing - no hourly meter, no membership to join, no financing to sign, and no line items added afterwards. If the number isn’t right for you, the estimate is still free and you owe us nothing.
How We Price Chimney Cleaning Work
Every job at Alcott Chimney Sweep is priced job by job, off a free written estimate. No hourly rate, no plan to join, no subscription that renews itself quietly every quarter. You see the full number for your specific job, in writing, before anyone picks up a brush or a camera. That number doesn’t move.
The reason we work this way is straightforward: chimney work varies a lot from house to house, and a flat advertised price that sounds reasonable on a website can turn into something else by the time the invoice appears. We’d rather give you the real number for your actual chimney up front. If you like what you see, we get to work. If you don’t, you owe us nothing.
What a Visit Actually Costs You to Find Out
Nothing. The estimate visit is free, and there’s no obligation attached to it.
When a technician comes out, they look at your system – the firebox, the flue, the cap, the crown, whatever is relevant to what you called about – and puts together a written price for the work. That visit typically takes under an hour. At the end of it, you have a document with a real number on it. You can take your time, ask questions, say yes, or say no. That’s the whole transaction until you decide you want to move forward.
No pressure, no “this offer expires when I walk out the door.” Just a price you can read, think about, and act on when you’re ready.
When People Usually Call Us
Late summer into early fall is the busiest stretch in this trade, and for good reason. Burning season is coming, and a lot of homeowners want to know the fireplace is clean and clear before the first cold night that actually calls for one. Schedules fill up. If you’re in that window and you’ve been meaning to call, sooner is genuinely better than later – not because we’re running a promotion, but because every other chimney company in the country is having the same conversation with their customers.
Storm season brings a different kind of call: a cap that got knocked loose, a crown with a new crack, water coming in somewhere it wasn’t before. That work is less predictable – you notice it when you notice it.
And then there’s spring. That’s when people deal with what they noticed all winter but didn’t want to think about while the fireplace was still in use. A damper that rattles, a smell when the wind shifts, something that wasn’t quite right but wasn’t quite urgent. Spring is a fine time for that conversation too. Ruben Castellano, who runs our operation, has said more than once that some of the most interesting things he’s ever found in a flue showed up in April, after a full winter of use.
What You Can Expect From Us Either Way
These aren’t things we do when we’re trying to earn your business. They’re the way every job works, every time.
Before the visit, you get the technician’s name and photo. When they arrive, they show a photo ID badge at the door – every time, no exceptions. That’s part of what we call the Threshold Standard, the set of requirements every Alcott technician meets before they’re ever sent to a customer’s home. Background-checked, identity-verified, uniformed. Not optional, not an upgrade.
The written price comes before any work starts. If we find something during the job that changes the scope, we stop and re-quote before we do anything about it. You decide what happens next.
Every repair comes with a written guarantee, and if the repair fails within a year, the second visit is free. That’s the 365-Day Done Right Promise, and it’s included with every completed job – not something you have to ask for.
When materials are needed, we work with professional trade brands: DuraFlex liner systems, HeatShield resurfacing, Gelco, Olympia Chimney, Famco, and Copperfield. These are the brands chimney professionals specify. Not box-store alternatives.
Common Questions
Is the estimate really free?
Yes, completely. A technician comes out, looks at your system, and gives you a written price at no charge and with no obligation to book. You can say no, take a few days to decide, or get another quote – there’s no fee for the visit either way.
Do you offer financing or a monthly plan?
No, and that’s a deliberate choice. We price every job off a free written estimate, and that’s the only pricing structure we use. No hourly rates, no subscriptions, nothing to sign up for. The number on the estimate is the number you pay – once, when the job is done.
Can I combine two offers?
One offer per household per visit. If you’re a first-time customer, the 10% first-visit discount applies to that visit. Other standing commitments – the written guarantee, the 365-Day Done Right Promise, the upfront written price – aren’t offers so much as the way every job works. Those apply regardless.
Does the price change once you’re here?
No. The written estimate is the price. If the technician gets into the job and finds something that genuinely changes the scope of work – something that couldn’t be seen from the outside – we stop, explain what we found, and write a new price before doing anything additional. You approve it or you don’t. Nothing gets added to the invoice that you didn’t agree to in writing first.

Either way, you’ll get a written price for your specific job before any work begins, and a technician sent to you by name and photo before they arrive. No surprises on the invoice, and no strangers at the door.
